HIMYM Sims Part 2

In this episode of HIMYM Sims....

Ok, so Tony was looking at the stuff included in the Free Time expansion pack, and I don't want to excite anyone, but it's pretty freaking awesome.

First of all, they have a new career choice: Architect.

So Ted quickly quit his job as a Slacker to get it together and start wearing funny hats.

But he soon got a promotion that led him to be able to work from home some of the time, calling for a new outfit and a pretty nifty looking architecture desk.

So that's all well and exciting, but in addition to the new career choice, the Sims can also have hobbies (gosh I feel like and advertisement. Oh well) . There's a list of possible hobbies they can have like games, arts and crafts, etc, and they naturally have an inclination towards one or two that they discover after trying something from that hobby. With me so far? Anyway, Ted and Barney were goofing around and they both happened to discover their hobby inclinations: Music and Dance. So there I am, minding my own business, checking out the house, when suddenly I notice that Barney and Ted are dancing. In order to amuse myself, I focus on them.

Weirdos. I'm about to look away when they start doing this...

OMG. Are they....

Yes, they are dancing THRILLER.

I'd barely finished recovering from that when some random woman popped up and invited Barney, who'd been showing so much enthusiasm in Music and Dance (it's the NPH in him coming out), to some kind of secret dance hangout. This girl was hot, so I had Barney go check out this secret Lair of Dance.

Yep, he totally tapped that.

Anyway, Ted was discouraged that he didn't get invited to the Secret Lair of Dance, too, so I sent him out to try and discover another hobby. This is the best he came up with.

...Great job, Ted.

Anyway, moving on from Ted's sad choice in hobbies, we have Ted's sad love life. It was decided that we needed to explore his insane drive to get married, so we decided to have fun with his girlfriend, this girl:

We thought to ourselves, "How would Ted mess this up?" So we had him propose to her.

They were in love, so she said yes.

But! Trouble was in store for this happy couple. They decided to go out on a date, a harmless enough venture for an engaged couple, until this happened.

Turns out his girl was bi and a bit of a flirt. She ended up hitting on the girl running the bar (who, funnily enough, is the same girl Ted tended a bar for all night as Barney's wingman). Ted wasn't too happy about this behavior mere days after their engagement, and they broke it off. Poor Ted.

To make himself feel better, he walked to the karaoke machine and started spewing out emo poetry.

Meanwhile, Lily got abducted by aliens. True story. I couldn't get a picture of it actually happening because there was a cutscene, but I got her return.

Everyone was excited to have her back, but she was preoccupied with the aliens. And Barney. Who was possibly involved; I mean really, who knows what his job entails? Marshall also had a stomachache.

Robin, who had yet to find a hobby like Barney and Ted, decided to try nature as a potential hobby. Being the doting puppy that he is, Barney decided to help her out. This, somehow, ended poorly for them, and for reasons which I am completely unaware, they soon found themselves engulfed by...

BEES!!

I seriously had no idea what they did to get swarmed by BEES for 3 hours, and I'm not sure if I want to know.

Anyway, Ted had been feeling down about his failed proposal, so he started seeing a rebound chick, this girl:

Ahem.

Anyway things were going pretty well with her and they had a little bit of a crush going on there, so Ted, being all devestated from his previous experience and not thinking clearly, decided to fuck it up again and proposed. Again.

It didn't go well, and Ted got another rejection.

Ted took it pretty hard.

In fact, everyone was getting a little high strung, so I decided it was time for a vacation. Everyone piled into a van and headed off for a Woodlands adventure! First thing when they arrived, the gang went on a shopping spree to fit the new Mountainous setting.

Robin and Marshall came to terms with the lumberjack sides in them while Ted and Lily settled for the dorky backpacker look. Barney, however, refused to participate.

Once they got back to the hotel, I sent them all on a tour. Or at least I tried to, but half an hour after everyone else had piled into the taxi, Robin and Barney were nowhere to be found. Where the hell were... oh for crying out loud.

*facepalm*

So, the tour left without them. It was probably lucky for them, though, because I made a bad decision when a prompt came up and accidently gave them all poison ivy.

...lol.

Anyway, the group spent most of their time going on tours (with the hidden hope of finding Big Foot) and making friends. Robin made fast friends with a kid and then proceeded to kick his ass during a Water Balloon fight.

I kept telling Barney to join in, but he refused to do anything other than watch Robin kick some ass, get soaking wet, and exchange some charming looks with the 9 year old.

Good job, Robin. Way to taunt a child.

Anyway, once the fight broke up, Barney and Robin did something painfully adorable.

DAWWWWWWW

Aaaand Ted was standing around them awkwardly, being a creeper. To ensure he didn't disturb this peaceful moment, I told him to listen to his iPod.

I quickly started to regret it.

Wow Ted. Just... wow.

Anyway, the rest of the vacation followed in much the same way, with Barney and Robin polluting the hot tub...

And Lily and Marshall trying to catch me off guard so they can try for a baby.

I'M ONTO YOU TWO.

Aaaand then I accidentally turned Lily into a vampire.

...Oops. That was a cheat gone wrong.

So we decided it was time to head home. Btw, Lily makes a CREEPY vampire!! I missed all her really good creepiness, but I did manage to get this gem just before she changed back.

And then she changed back to normal Lily, in a really painful looking transformation.

Anyway, it was time to go back to life as normal. Everyone got rewards for going on vacation, and I gave everyone the rejuvinated reward, which Robin used to get a promotion! I was excited, until I saw the new outfit.

Bad,Robin Sparkles! That does not send a good message for children!

Anyway, another reward I gave some was a romantic finess reward. I gave it to Barney and Robin because of their Romantic aspirations, and to Ted because I felt sorry for him. At least I did, until THIS happened.

...THE HELL??? BAD TED!! *facepalm!*

So I rushed to a cheat that disabled jealousy in the household because I didn't want to deal with Barney being furious with Ted AND Robin, and now I have to figure out how to make them stop macking on each other because for some stupid reason in the Sims, if two Sims are BFF and one of them makes a move, they ALWAYS fall in love. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

But, that's an adventure for another day.

HIMYM Sims Part 1

Ok, so I've been spending my Spring Break lounging around my flat in Athens doing nothing (in my defense, it's the Greek Easter and nothing's been open) except watching HIMYM and playing the Sims. Eventually, the two molded into one, and I give you... How I Met Your Mother, Sims version.

Meet the Legendarys. Want to see their adventures? Well then...

First off, we have Ted's apartment. Kudos to Tony for the excellent design of it.

Next, Barney's apartment, complete with his red-light porn library. Once again, Tony's good work.

Tony also gave Ted his own pineapple-centric bedroom, which I count as a win.

Ok, rooms aside, these Sims having been driving us crazy. We downloaded a mod to allow casual sex, which is convenient for Romance aspirations and for taking away the annoying have-to-be-in-love BS that Maxis puts on the Sims. This has been especially convenient for Barney, who often goes out on the town with his wingman Ted to take care of those public woohoo wants. Ted is SUCH a good wingman that he can be seen here standing in for the barmaid so Barney can move in on her.

Atta boy, Ted.

However, this new mod also makes our Sims horny. Constantly. They're pretty much always doing it, especially Lily and Marshall. In fact, Lily and Marshall were doing it SO MUCH that we couldn't always be there to tell them not to try for a baby all the hundreds of times they thought it up on their own, and Lily got preggers. Here's her baby Persephone, who is actually ADORABLE.

Marshall has some Daddy time with Persephone.

We decided to let them keep her, but I didn't want to deal with kids, so we quickly grew her up to a teenager and moved her out to college. Problem solved. Here she is being toted around as a toddler by Ted.

The latest edition of Sims we have is Apartment Life, which has a 'gesture' option where you can HIGH FIVE people as a greeting. So here, by popular demand (meaning me and Tony), is FREEZE FRAME HIGH FIVE.

Aaaand this was right after they did it. Of their own accord. One second they're making out in the kitchen, the next they're "relaxing" naked in the bed. They're like rabbits.

So aside from accidental babies and constantly doing it, it's pretty much business as usual for these Sims. Barney's a CEO in the Business track, Robin's pursuing the Music track (though we hear she might be dropping that to move on to media soon), Lily's an Elementary School teacher, Marshall's pushing his way through menial law jobs, and Ted's a slacker. Seriously, that's his job title. But time spent at home is mostly dull and drab. Marshall plays video games...

Robin is oblivious to Barney's forlorn glances...

and Barney takes his helicopter to work.

He and Robin totally did it in there, too, btw. *shakes head*

And that's about as exciting as it gets in the Legendary household...

...or IS it?

Just have to say, this face is SO NPH. And his face got stuck in this position for 3 Sim days for some unknown reason. It was kind of hilarious. And Marshall's in the background preparing himself for his upcoming job interview in the Law career.
"You will not cry this time..."

New journal

I almost wanted to post on my old LJ, but then I decided that my old LJ was too full of old memories. Granted, old memories aren't all bad, but they were the kind of memories that are best left behind when a new chapter in one's life begins. Anyway.

Another reason that I decided to close the book on my last journal and open this fresh page is because the entire nature of this journal will be almost an exact opposite from what my last journal served as. I started that journal as a refuge, a place to hide away all my feelings of doubt about myself and the relationships that I had with other people. Yea, that was healthy; we all know where THAT landed me. So I'm starting this journal with the different goal of sharing the feelings and events in my life with people instead of hiding them away. I'm done keeping secrets from myself and my friends; they're immature and destructive. I've decided that what I needed wasn't an escape, it was a life that I didn't want to escape from.

So, welcome to my life.
